Just because your heating and cooling system is operating doesn’t mean it’s working at peak efficiency.  Like your car; your heating and cooling equipment relies on many aspects to work together efficiently so that you get maximum comfort with a minimum energy cost.

Shelton’s Pride takes great pride in the systems we design and install. We perform a full evaluation, that most companies can’t do or don’t know how. We test the air distribution system to see if it is designed and working properly with a flow hood to measure the exact amount of air being pushed through the system. We perform static pressure test on the duct system (this is like taking your blood pressure at the doctor). We measure the house, insulation, and windows (heat load calculation) to see exactly what size system you will need. We look at the attic ventilation to see if your attic is getting to hot during the summer months. Shelton’s Pride also looks for internal heat bypasses in the home. After gathering this information we can recommend the proper repairs and replacement needed to fit your comfort and energy saving needs. If you just replace the unit and do not test the duct system you will not be getting what you deserve.

For example: If another contractor does not test the duct system, they can be telling you that you are recieving a 15 seer a/c system, but actually you are only getting a 10 seer system, because the airflow through the duct system is incorrect. So if you don’t use Shelton’s Pride please use a company that test the duct system before the installation and after. Make them prove to you that the system is working within 10 % of design.

These reports started in 2000 through 2008 and have always been the best. American Standard is a little more expensive than the other brands out on in the market, but you get what you pay for. The average life expectancy and humidity removal of American Standard is a lot higher than most other brands.
